Manuel Bastioni

Project leader

Passionate about 3D graphics, open source, organic modelling and urban architecture. He is the founder of MakeHuman project and currently he directs it as BDFL. In 2004 he received Suzanne award for the best script in 3D graphics. He collaborated with several Italian universities for thesis and publications on 3D modellization

Marc Flerackers

Programmers team leader

A professional software developer with more than a decade of experience in the fields of animation, 2d and 3d graphics, voice and video communication, security, virtual machines and scripting. Proficient in C/C++ and many scripting languages including Python, Ruby and Lua.

Jose Capco

R&D team leader

Mathematician. He works with the new pose-engine of makehuman and the hair interpolation algorithms.

Programmers team

The core coders team is composed of the best programmers in the group. Reliable and competent, they have worked on the project for years, while dedicating to it a limited amount of their time because of their many commitments. They deal with the execution of key tasks, the resolution of bugs, and porting to various operating systems.

Thomas Larsson

Thomas Larsson received his MSc in engineering physics and his PhD in theoretical physics, both from KTH Stockholm. He has worked as a programmer and with academic research, and is currently involved in the development of electrical servo motors. On his free time he enjoys programming for MakeHuman and being with his family

Hans Peter Dusel

Dipl.Ing.(FH) Peter Dusel has studied Electrical Engineering. He is a professional programmer in the fields of Embedded- and Automotive-Software (Linux, QNX, VxWorks, Windows, Java...) and working for a German 1st-Tier Automotive Software company.

Joel Palmius

Joel Palmius, CEO PhD Computer and Systems Science BSc Psychology

Antonella Cascitelli

Eduardo Morais

Coder, graduate student in Computer Science on the University of São Paulo, Brazil in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Alexis Mignon

Coder, researcher, join the Makehuman team and start working on some advanced features using Singular Value Decomposition.

Artists team

The team of artists works on the modelling of key figures and accessories, on the study of expressions, on the anatomical details, on the topology of the mesh, the design of the texture, the testing of the rendering engine.

Abhishek Gupta

Working at thomas cook india ltd. He is a self taught graphic artist and an open source fanatic with over six years experience with blender and participated in multiple short film making projects

André Richard

A modern day bohemian, self taught artist and a computer graphics enthusiast. He has previously worked in medical visualization and he is currently studying multimedia technology.

Igor Kekeljevic

A computer graphic senior, with experience in GUI design, user experience design and web development. Currently he works at Faculty of Technical Sciences, but he would be happy to find a well-paid job at Google ;-) He is a Magistar of Painting & Fine Arts Professor, with background experience in concept art and illustration.

Robert Juten

Robert Juten studied computer engineering and finance, and has worked in the fields of architecture, machine automation, programming, manufacturing and marketing. He currently works as a freelance consultant. He enjoys spending his time with his family and thinking “outside the box”.

Greg M. Johnson

Greg M. Johnson is a Semiconductor Failure Analysis Engineer for IBM. In his spare time he likes to tinker with robotics (Arduino system) and freeware 3D graphics like blender and povray. He is looking to explore settings for realistic textures and lighting in povray.

R&D Team

The R&D team manages most of the researches for the coders team. The team analyzes various papers, evaluates the quality and feasibility of algorithms and if needed develops new methods to obtain the best possible professional results. Besides mathematics and physics, they also take care of the user aspects and try to find the best possible GUI metaphors to make the GUI as user friendly as possible..
